The Hopkins County Attorney’s Office provides mentor/clerkship opportunities for college students seeking a career in criminal justice. Over a dozen Hopkins County students have been selected for the program and many have proceeded to have successful legal careers in both the public and private sector. “I am always delighted to see Hopkins County students excel. I agree with UK Coach Calipari’s philosophy of ‘succeed and proceed’,” said Todd P’Pool.

The newest recipient of the Hopkins County Attorney’s clerkship is Alexandria Whittington. “Alex is a rising star from Hopkins County with a competitive spirit and impressive resume. She has the kind of talent that makes any team successful,” stated P’Pool.

Alex is a graduate of Madisonville North Hopkins High School, Class of 2013. She was a member of Key Club, FBLA, Beta Club, and the Lady Maroon Soccer team. She is currently attending Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. She is a member of the Indiana State Women’s Soccer Team, a Presidential Scholar, a member of the Honors Society, and involved in the Political Science Club. Majoring in Political Science, she plans to attend law school after graduation and move back to Madisonville to start her career.
